Sinterklaas Day in Amsterdam
Someone left me a really preachy comment on this post a few months ago, and subsequently drove a ton of traffic to my blog by linking to it to share how offensive she found it. Why you would share a link to something that you found offensive is beyond me, but she felt the need to do so and to leave a comment pointing out how much more cultured she is than me, and how much more progressive The Netherlands is than America.
She’s probably right on both counts, but for the record, I wasn’t “complaining” about this tradition, as she accused me of doing. I was just writing a blog post about the craziest shit I saw when I was in Amsterdam.
