I think it’s real cool that Koko is so smart, but Christine’s got a point.
So I’m one Koko documentary in, and whoa do I not like the psychologist/researcher/woman whose idea it was to make a Koko. Penny Patterson (that name).
As far as I can tell, Koko’s young life was basically a long string of days where she was like, “Hey, I just want to gorill-out, Penny,” and Penny was like, “Nope. Slave. Talk to me about this tomato.”
You can watch the whole movie on YouTube here, but Christ. An adult woman fighting — arguing! yelling! — with a baby gorilla gives me a whole bunch of sads.
